Good Friday – an expression of unconditional ‘LOVE’
April 14, 2017 –Good Friday, the Holy Mother the Church commemorated
the passion and death of our Lord Jesus Christ. On this Holy day, a
meaningful enacted way of the cross was organized at the Infant Jesus
Shrine, Pushpashrama, Mysuru. At 8-30 am the devotion commenced and was
attended by large number of faithful of the vicinity. The Philosophy
brothers under the guidance of Frs Oswald Crasta and Vijay D’ Costa made
known to the faithful, the sufferings of Jesus through an enactment
which lasted almost 100 minutes. This became an occasion to know in
reality what Jesus did on Mount Calvary, the ultimate sacrifice of his
life for the love of mankind.
The passion liturgy was at 5-00 p.m. which was presided over by Fr
Joseph Pinto along with other community friars. Fr Vijay D’ Costa
preached an inspiring homily and exhorted the faithful to ponder on the
passion of Christ and to do the will of God the Father as Jesus did in
his life. Thus the Good Friday liturgy became a platform to contemplate
the paschal mysteries of Christ and to strengthen the faith of the
people in their lives.
