Grand 8th Anniversary celebration of NBJ at Carmel Hill
The 8th Anniversary of Konkani monthly, “Naman Ballok Jesu”, was
held on Saturday Dec. 10th at Carmel hill. The programe began
with a prayer dance presented by the youth of Infant Mary
Church, Bajjodi. Welcoming the guests and the gathering, Fr Jocy
Siddakatte OCD, pointed out that Naman Ballok Jesu has been able
to make its presence due to the tremendous support it received
from readers, sponsors and writers. The welcome speech was
followed by a power point presentation on the path traversed by
Naman Ballok Jesu, the monthly magazine of the Carmelites, in
the last eight years. The PPP also gave a brief account of the
feedback of eminent personalities on the relevance of this
magazine.
Deccan Herald Chief Reporter Mr. Ronald Fernandes was the guest
of honour. Speaking on the occasion Mr. Ronald Fernandes stated
that, “the Media needs an alert audience or the readers who
speak out on any important issue presented in a magazine or on
e-media. The views expressed by the public or the readers will
surely give extra boost to the issue raised in the magazines”.
Daya Victor Lobo, renowned artist and proprietor – Akaar, gave
away the prizes to the winners of Prakrati kalakrati
Puraskar-2016. Another event that formed part of the ‘programme
was presenting the NBJ Yuva Prathibha Puraskar 2016. All the
three top nominees were called on the stage and felicitated with
a bouquet and memento. A Short video was shown on the screen
about their achievements. Later Mavis Rodrigues announced that
Nihal Henson Tauro is the winner of Yuva Prathibha Puraskar
2016. He was honoured with a shawl, fruits, bouquet memento and
25,000 cash prize for his stupendous achievements in the singing
field. This award was sponsored by Mavis Rodrigues in her
childrens name – ‘Amulya Aakash’
Fr. Provincial also congratulated the earlier Editor Fr Stephen
Pereira and the New Editor of Naman Ballok Jesu Fr. Jocy and his
team for popularising the monthly magazine and encouraged them
to continue the good work they have been doing in the last eight
years.
Provincial Superior Fr Charles Serrao, Mr. Ronald Fernandes,
Fr.Pius James, Fr Joe Tauo, Superior St Joseph’s Monastery,
Mevis Rodrigues, and Fr. Jocy Siddakatte were on the dais.
Soon after the stage programe Kala kutam members staged a drama
“Sallio” written by Fr. Jocy Siddakatte and directed by John M.
Permanur. Each and every member of the audience sat without
moving for 2 hours of the drama enjoying every bit of the
dialogues that were merged with meaningful social message.
Manu Bantwal compeered the programe and Fr. Ivan D’souza
proposed the vote of thanks.
