Buried in purity!
We here in the Fraser Valley had a challenging weekend with
freezing temperatures and snow moving with force for three
consecutive days. Reports say, our neighboring Abbotsford and
Mission city traffic police had more than 9,000 calls from the
public for snow related accidents. We have almost 40 centimeters
of snow around our house. Our North Deroche road is not yet
cleared of snow hence we cannot move out of the house at least
for few days. Our cars and truck are almost buried in the snow.
We had to shovel the snow and prepare a pathway to go from our
residence to the new monastery and when you walk on this pathway
It feels as if we are like the Israelites waking across the Nile
on dry ground with the frozen water piled up on the sides!
We did not have bookings in December, the only group that
booked at the last moment cancelled due to poor weather. We are
in trouble if we run out of profane as our heating system
depends on this gas. Fortunately we bought the groceries just
before the snow storm hit on Thursday night. Another five to 10
centimeters are expected to fall this night, with snow finally
tapering off Monday morning. Enjoy a few rare pictures of snow
clad Carmel Hill.
