REPORT ON THE VESTITION CEREMONY
On 14th December, 2016, the Feast of St. John of the Cross, 16 candidates from the English OCDS and 11 candidates from Konkani OCDS were vested with the Scapular thus entering into the Novitiate stage of formation. The ceremony took place during the 7 pm mass at St. Joseph Church, Mira Road. It was a concelebrated mass with Fr. Silvestre D’Souza, Provincial Councillor of Spirituality and the OCDS, being the main celebrant. Under the guidance of Fr. Lancy Mendonca, Spiritual Assistant of the English OCDS, and Fr. Joachim Rodrigues of the Konkani OCDS these candidates completed their Aspirancy and were found suitable to enter the Novitiate. The candidates were presented with the Bible and the Constitution of the OCDS during the ceremony. All the Priests blessed the candidates and prayed for them to progress in their spiritual growth in the Novitiate stage of Formation.
