Feast of Our Lady of Mount Carmel at Asha Deepa
On July 17, 2024, the Asha Deepa community in
Madanthyar joyously celebrated the Feast of Our
Lady of Mount Carmel. The event was marked by a
solemn Mass, with Fr. Rudolph Raj Pinto, the
Director of the Ryshivana Spirituality Centre in
Mangalore, serving as the main celebrant.
In his inspiring homily, Fr. Pinto highlighted
the profound reasons for honouring Mary, delving
into the significance of the scapular and its
role in spiritual life. He also spoke about how
Mary assists the faithful in overcoming life’s
challenges, offering comfort and guidance.
The Mass was further enriched by the angelic
voices of the choir, creating a serene and
uplifting atmosphere. The celebration saw the
participation of numerous deanery priests,
religious priests, and sisters from the region,
along with a large gathering of the faithful.
Following the Mass, refreshments were provided
for all attendees, fostering a sense of
community and fellowship. The priests and nuns
were served a monastic meal in the refectory,
adding a special touch to the day’s festivities.
The Feast of Our Lady of Mount Carmel was a
memorable occasion for the Asha Deepa community,
filled with spiritual enrichment, communal
harmony, and joyous celebration.
