ICYM bajjodi celebrates ‘Vanamahotsava’

Bajjodi: Infant Mary Church, Bajjodi, ICYM unit which is affiliated to Indian Catholic Youth Movement Mangalore Diocese observed the Vanamahotsava Day on Sunday, 09th July 2017.

The program commenced after the Sunday morning 6.30am mass. The programe was held in the church premises. Parish Priest Rev Fr. Shabas Crasta, along with Fr. Ivan D’soza, Fr. Ajit Rodrigues, Vice President Mr. Joseph Mascarenhas, Secretary Mrs. Irene Menezes, ICYM President Jewel Fernandes were present.

The event began with a short welcome by Ms Clerita Lobo, which was followed by prayer by ICYM youth. Fr. Shabas Crasta in his message highlighted on the Importance of Vanamahotsava. He also stressed on how the parishioners can grow plants in and around their house and make change in the society. ICYM youth handed over the sapling to Fr. Shabas and it was planted in the garden.

Later, Ms. Jewel Fernandes, ICYM president proposed the vote of thanks. Ms. Clerita Lobo, Secretary of ICYM compered the programe. A total of 100 saplings were distributed to the parishioners.
