Mount Carmel feast celebrated in Bengaluru
BENGALURU: The Solemnity of Our Lady of Mount
Carmel was celebrated with great devotion and
fervor at Sadbhavana, the Carmelite
Provincialate at Rajajinangar - Bengaluru.
The Holy Eucharist was presided over by Rev. Fr.
Stifan Perera, OCD Director of Dhyanavana
Publications. In his festal homily he invited
the devotees to fight the spiritual fight with
the help of the Scapular which is a sign of
Mary’s maternal protection and intercession. “As
our earthly mothers make great sacrifice in
providing us with clothing which gives us
identity, protection and respect, so too our
Heavenly Mother has clothed us with her
Scapular.” He invited us to wear it with
devotion and inculcate her virtues in life.
“It’s not enough that we wear the scapular, we
need to adorn our life with her virtues,” he
said.
The celebration was attended by many devotees in
and around Bengaluru. Rev. Fr. Johannes Gorantla,
Definitor General of the Carmelites, Rev. Fr.
Dolphy Pais, OFC Cap, Provincial Superior of the
Capuchins, Rev. Fr. Charles Serrao, Provincial
Superior of the Carmelites and many other

scholarship to the needy children and scapulars
