Parish Catechism Day and 76thBirthday of Fr. Patrick Lobo Celebrated at Bajjodi
The Annual Catechism Day and 76th birthday of Fr Patrick Lobo was celebrated on March 14th 2021 at Infant Mary Church,Bajjodi. It was a day to thank the Lord for the gift of Faith and of Life. The celebration began at 9.15 am with the Eucharist presided by Fr. Patrick Lobo. The Parish Priest, Fr Ivan Dsouza; Superior of Carmel Hill, Fr Charles Serrao; Fr. Michael Morris and Fr. Rayan Pinto concelebrated at the Eucharist. Fr. Michael Morris preached the homily on the theme “Jesus is our Light”. The children took active part in the liturgy, and the melodious choir added fervour to the celebration.

This was followed by a felicitation programme, where Fr.Ivan Dsouza spoke few words about Fr. Patrick Lobo. Fr. Charles Serrao presented Fr.Patrick Lobo with a bouquet of flowers and wished him on behalf of all thepriests. Vice President Mr. PrakashSaldanha and Secretary Mrs. Irene Pinto presented Fr Patrick with a gift and wished him well on behalf of all the parishioners.

Fr. Ivan Dsouza appreciated the efforts of the catechism coordinator Mrs. Stella Dsouza and all the teachers for their selfless service in imparting spiritual education to the children of the parish. Fr Patrick Lobo honoured the teachers with gifts for their service through the year. Mrs. Philomena Rasquinha read out the winners list and children from every class were awarded prizes for securing first, second and third place in the catechism exam.
