Celebrating 100 Years of The Canonisation of
St. Thérèse of Lisieux
The Little Flower teaches us to love deeply, trust completely, and
find holiness in the small things.
On November 02, 2025s, in a spirit of joy and reflection, a special
screening on the life of St. Thérèse of Lisieux was shown to all the
catechism children at the Carmelite Monastery. Since the screening
took place on All Souls’ Day, it became a truly meaningful occasion
— a perfect reflection of St. Thérèse’s pure and beautiful soul. The
event was lovingly organized by the Our Lady of Mount Carmel
Community, OCDS, as part of the Centenary Celebration of the
Canonisation of St. Thérèse of Lisieux.
The screening began with a warm welcome note by the President of the
OCDS Community, Elizabeth Santos, followed by a prayer led by Mathil
Jane. At the end, Mrs. Dorothy Gomes, President of the Catechists,
delivered a heartfelt vote of thanks. The children were deeply
touched by her story, and the morning ended on a sweet note — with
chocolates for all distributed by OCDS members Savio Pereira and
Mathil Jane.
Earlier in October, the Our Lady of Mount Carmel Community (OCDS)
gathered in prayer and celebration to mark the 100th anniversary of
the canonisation of St. Thérèse of the Child Jesus and the Holy
Face.
The evening began with the heartfelt recitation of the Divine Mercy
Chaplet, followed by Evening Prayer from the Breviary. A special
film on the life of St. Thérèse offered the community an opportunity
to reflect deeply on her Little Way — a path of love, simplicity,
and complete trust in God.
The celebration continued in a spirit of joyful fellowship,
strengthening the bonds of fraternity. A lively QUIZ on the life and
spirituality of St. Thérèse brought smiles and warm interaction as
members celebrated her enduring legacy with both heart and
enthusiasm.
A hundred years later, the message of the Little Flower remains ever
fresh. Her quiet path to holiness — doing small things with great
love — continues to lead countless souls closer to Jesus.
May the Little Flower continue to shower her blessings upon us and
help us walk her Little Way — with faith, love, and joy.
