Frivita and Nivita bag NBJ Yuva Pratibha
Puraskar and Jeet Milan ‘The person of the year’

Frivita D’Souza and Nivita Cardoza, young
budding youth are chosen for the ‘NBJ – Amulya
Akash Yuva Pratibha Puraskar-2017’ in sports and
art category respectively and environmentalist
Jeet Milan Roche for the ‘Godwin-Sushma
Rasquinha Person of the Year -2017’ instituted
by Naman Ballok Jesu, Konkanni monthly.
The award ‘Yuva Pratibha Puraskar’ carries Rs.
20,000 in cash and the ‘Person of the Year
Award’ Rs 30,000 in cash, certificate, memento
and shawl. All the three awards will be
presented in Carmel Hill – Mangaluru on December
3.

Frivita D’Souza
Hailing
from Gurpur-Kaikamba, Frivita is a
budding dramatist. She acted in
nearly 13 dramas through Kalakul.
She acted in two Konkani films -
‘Nashibacho Khel’ and ‘Sofiya’. She
also co- directed two dramas - ‘Aat
Foti’ and ‘Osmitai’. She has
received the ‘Best Actress Award’ in
2016-17 and ‘Best Drama Writer’ from
Kalakul Theatre Repertory. Presently
she is pursuing her M.A. in
economics in Mangalore University.
‘Naman Ballok Jesu and Amulya-Akash
Klala Yuva Prathiba Kala Award 2017’
goes to Frivita D’Souza.
Nivita Cardoza
Nivita
hails from the rural place of Belman.
Being a champion in Karate, Nivita
has gained a name for herself in
national and international Karate
events. She had bagged 23 gold, 20
silver, and 14 bronze medals so far.
From 2007-2017 she has participated
in 32 competitions either individual
or group. She is the student of
Mundkur Mulladka Guruprasad Raghu T.
Shetty Karate School. Presently she
is pursuing her studies in computer
science. ‘Naman Ballok Jesu and
Amulya-Akaash Yuva Prathibha Sports
Award 2017’ goes to Nivita Cardoza.
Jeet Milan Roche
Having
fallen in love with the nature, Jeet
Milan’s mission is to plant trees
and take care of them. In order to
create ‘Green Mangaluru’ he began
‘Mangalore Green Brigade’. In and
around Mangaluru he has planted more
than a lakh trees without anyone’s
help. In empty land, cemeteries,
unused railway and highway
properties, temple roads, dump yards
he has not only planted greenery but
also nurtured them. He is also
working on eco-friendly waste and
garbage dumping. ‘Godwin-Sushma
Rasquinha’ person of the year award
is presented to Jeet Milan Roche.
The 9th Anniversary of Naman Ballok Jesu,
Konkani monthly will be celebrated on 3 December
at 5 pm at Carmel Hill, Bikarnakatte. Rev. Dr.
Pius James D’Souza the Vicar Provincial of K.G.
Carmelite Province will preside over the program
and inaugurate the Decennial year. Fr. Chetan
Capuchin, the editor of Uzvad, Konkani
fortnightly, Hemacharya, Editor - Daijiworld
English weekly, will be the chief guests.
‘NBJ-Amulya Akaash Yuva Pratibha Puraskar-2017
and NBJ-Godwin-Sushma Rasquinha Family Person of
the Year award will be presented on this
occasion. NBJ-Akaar Innovations sponsored
‘Prakruti Kalakruti’ prizes also will be
distributed on this occasion. A book in Konkani
by renowned writer, Herolpius will be released.
Christopher D’Souza Ninasam and group will
entertain with ‘Katha Kavya Rang’, which will
add spices to the programme.
‘Naman Ballok Jesu’ the monthly is an initiative
of Carmelite Fathers, which brings out Konkani
literature, culture in interesting topics. The
topics which the society doesn’t like to discuss
much, is brought for discussion by the magazine
which has brought a lot of awareness among the
readers. It also pens literature, arts and
sports, politics and technology. It recognizes
young talents and honors them. Now it is
stepping into its decennial celebrations!
