Inauguration and Blessing of the MCS
Shivamogga Office Block
The Inauguration and Blessing of the new office block at Mount
Carmel School, Shivamogga, took place on October 21, 2024 under the
theme “Blessed to Bless”. The event was graced by the presence of
Rev. Fr. Silvestre D'Souza, Provincial Superior, as the chief guest,
accompanied by Frs. Prakash Tauro and Vinod Lobo. The inaugural
ceremony was compered by Fr. Nelson Pinto.
The solemn inauguration was held outside the office, where the
guests were greeted with a warm welcome by the school band.
Provincial Fr. Silvestre D’Souza, along with Fr. Sunil Rodrigues,
the school Correspondent, ceremoniously inaugurated the new edifice.
This was followed by a prayer of blessing and the sprinkling of Holy
Water over the entire building.
After the blessing, the school band led the guests to the
multi-purpose hall for the felicitation programme. The event
commenced with a prayer dance by the school children, invoking God's
blessings on the occasion. In his speech, Fr. Sunil Rodrigues
emphasized four key values—Dream, Desire, Dedication, and
Discipline—encouraging the students to imbibe these principles to
excel both in academics and in life. He expressed heartfelt
gratitude to all who contributed to making the office block a
reality, acknowledging the founding father of the school, Fr. Jerome
Moras, as well as the friars who have served the institution since
its inception.
Fr. Sunil also extended special thanks to Fr. Joachim Rodrigues,
Secretary for CJET, for his unwavering support, guidance, and
encouragement. He commended the dedicated efforts of Frs. Prakash
D’Cunha, Councillor for Temporalities, and Melwin Lasrado, Treasurer
CJET, who worked tirelessly during the construction phase. Fr.
Prakash Tauro, Principal of MCS Belur, was also appreciated for his
valuable guidance and support. Gratitude was extended to Mr. Ravi
Kumar, the contractor, and all those who played a role in the
successful completion of the office block.
Further appreciation was given to the Provincial and Councillors for
their continued encouragement and support of the school's projects.
Fr. Suresh Saldanha, Principal, Fr. Nelson Pinto, Counsellor, and
Deacon Pranay Pereira, who recently joined the community, were also
acknowledged for their dedicated service.
Fr. Silvestre D'Souza was felicitated by the Correspondent,
Principal, Counsellor, and Deacon. In his address, Fr. Provincial
encouraged the students to strive to become good human beings, to
shine in society, and to lead fulfilling lives. He also expressed
his gratitude to the entire school community for their dedicated
work toward the completion of the office block and other school
projects.
The students captivated the audience with a creative programme that
highlighted the important role of teachers in shaping young minds,
and a vibrant dance performance that entertained the gathering. The
felicitation programme was compered by Mohammad Rayyan and Mohammad
Ayan, with the welcome address delivered by Sr. Carmelita DN.
Dhanika UH concluded the event with a vote of thanks.
On behalf of the entire Province, we congratulate the school
