Centenary of St. Thérèse’s Canonization
Concludes with Triduum at Edmonton
In preparation for the conclusion of the Centenary of the
Canonization of Saint Thérèse of Lisieux, a Triduum was held at
Mount Carmel Spirituality Centre, Edmonton, Canada. Over three days,
Rev. Fr. Rudolf D’Souza preached a spiritually enriching retreat on:
The Greatness of Littleness of St. Thérèse, The Dynamism of
Suffering that Culminated in Her Little Way, and The Final Seal of
Her Spirituality: “I Have Found My Vocation—Love.”
Through his reflections, Fr. Rudolf unfolded various dimensions of
St. Thérèse’s spirituality, offering practical and concrete
applications to daily life. He drew parallels between her Little Way
and the contemporary challenges of war, violence, the rapid growth
of mass media, and the complex problems facing the world today. For
those who attended, it was truly a spiritual feast. On October 1,
the faithful gathered joyfully for the solemn celebration of her
feast and the conclusion of the Centenary Year of her Canonization.
Many participants testified to the graces they received, deepening
their knowledge of St. Thérèse, her suffering, and her ultimate
vocation to love.
During this time, the community also celebrated the birthday of Fr.
Jerome Moras on September 30. Friends from Calgary, along with two
close companions of Fr. Rudolf—Fr. Vincent de Paul and Br. Mariano
from Madrid, Spain—joined the celebrations and participated in the
retreat. They also visited the monastery at Mount Carmel
Spirituality Centre, enriching their stay with prayer and
fellowship.
With gratitude, the community acknowledges Fr. Rudolf for his
inspiring preaching, Fr. Jerome Moras, and the Mount Carmel
Spirituality Centre community for their dedicated efforts in
organizing the retreat and making all necessary preparations.
