Touching Lives with Love – A Memorable Visit
to the Elderly by OCDS Bikarnakatte
The Secular Carmelites of the St. Teresa of Avila Community,
Bikarnakatte, experienced a meaningful and joyful encounter during
their visit to the Old Age Home run by the Sisters of St. Ann’s
Providence on 18th October 2025.
Upon arrival, Sr. Superior and the other sisters extended a warm
welcome to the group. The residents gathered in the hall, where a
lively interaction took place. The elderly inmates joyfully sang
prayer songs and shared cheerful moments with the visitors.
To add to the delight, Ms. Jane Sequeira organized entertaining
games for the residents, and prizes were distributed to the winners.
The two hours spent together were filled with happiness, laughter,
and heartfelt gratitude.
As part of the community’s outreach initiative, charity
contributions in cash and kind were collected from the OCDS members
and presented to Sr. Superior. She expressed her sincere
appreciation for the thoughtful visit and generous contributions,
invoking God’s abundant blessings on all present.
The entire programme was meticulously planned and carried out under
the leadership of Mr. Gratian D’Souza, the OCDS Community President,
with the enthusiastic participation of most of the members. The
visit proved to be a touching and enriching experience, deepening
the community’s commitment to service, compassion, and love for the
elderly.
