APPRECIATION SUNDAY AT ST. PETER’S PARISH, MACKENZIE
–CANADA.
ON OCTOBER 2ND, 2016
I thank my God whenever I think of you; and
every time I pray for all of you, I pray with joy…”
[Ph. 1:3]
On October 2nd was one of the most beautiful days in
the history of St. Peters Church in Mackenzie,
Canada. We came together to express our gratitude
and acknowledge that each person is a unique gift to
one another. A very special celebration and praise
to our Lord for bringing many volunteers in our
church and community who work tirelessly to build
the Kingdom of God. We celebrated by honoring each
with much appreciation and thanksgiving. Attending
our special day was Bishop Stephen Jensen, and
Martha & Allan Primus who complimented our choir.
Father Ronnie our pastor and our Bishop your
Excellency Stephen Jensen shared in celebrating
Mass. And Bishop Jensen’s Homily spoke of Catholic
Faith being ancient and brand new. If we are open we
can discover the newness of our faith each day. For
each day we live is a miracle in itself. God
promises each of us that his love will never end and
we belong to him for all eternity. Our vocation is
to return to God in Heaven. Our Catholic life is not
about doing minimal, as minimal work is not enough.
Our faith is not a burden but a privilege. Each day
is a privilege. We must work at our spiritual life
by prayer, penance, forgiveness, charity, love and
thanksgiving. We must work at God’s friendship by
loving God with our soul and strength, embracing
Jesus’ teachings.
After Mass, we shared in a delicious luncheon, which
also consisted of roast pig. There was much food,
laughter and celebration. Church ministers, from the
other denominations were present, and members of the
community also shared in our meal.
Later, Our Fr. Ronnie so proud to stand on behalf of
St. Peter’s parish , and in the presence of our
loving Bishop Stephen Jansen, to thank each
personally for the selfless service and love that we
give to our community. Father Ronnie honored all
volunteers in our church and in our community for
their love and support to our pantry (Vincent de
Paul). He thanked everyone for their participation,
love, time, and charity in building our church,
building the Mackenzie community, and most of all
building the Kingdom of God. And finally he
encouraged everyone to work together.
