Our Lady of Rosary Venerated @ Pushpashrama
“Praying the Rosary without the meditation on the
mysteries of Christ is similar to a body without a
soul”. – Pope Paul VI.
After achieving a feat of praying the rosary in more
than 60 homes in the month of October, the community
of Pushpashrama organised ‘An hour to Rosary’ in the
Infant Jesus Shrine on October 31st. Before the
solemn Rosary, a high mass was celebrated in honour
of our Lady of Rosary at 6:30 PM. Fr. Oswald was the
main celebrant and preached a well prepared homily
highlighting the history, significance and
Christo-centricism of the Holy Rosary.
With lamps and candles burning bright and our Lady
adorning herself amidst these lights, the Rosary was
prayed in the presence of minimal lights. Every
mystery was reflected in depth and the Fatima Prayer
was sung in the presence of the gathered faithful.
After the Rosary, all the people marched with
lighted candles in procession to the Grotto of our
Lady. The litany was sung and all the faithful who
had gathered there were dedicated to the Most Holy
Family of Jesus. The Rosary was brought to an end by
the singing of the ‘Salve Regina’ in its solemn
tune.
Thus the whole month of October which is dedicated
to Our lady of Rosary, was celebrated in a unusual
manner, with a group of brothers and fathers,
carrying the statue of Mary and praying the Rosary
in their homes after installing the statue. After 30
days of this practice, the Rosary prayed in our
shrine ended the month of Rosary in a grand manner.
The Grotto was also cleaned, polished and
illuminated with lights for this purpose.
Though the month dedicated to the Holy Rosary for
this year has ended, nevertheless the fervour of
praying the rosary will never get dampened in our
hearts!
