Canadian Carmelite pronounces final vows in Rome
The Solemn Profession of Br Frank Sharma of the Immaculate Heart of Mary, belonging to our Canadian Delegation, was solemnized at the monastery of Santa Maria della Scala, Rome on 18th Sept 2021 at 4 pm. The solemn Eucharist was presided over by V. Rev Fr. Pius James D’Souza OCD, the Definitor General in whose hands Br Sharma pronounced his vows. V. Rev. Fr. Saverio Cannistra OCD, the former Superior General preached a befitting homily on the theme of kenotic love. Fr. Juan Miguel OCD, the Superior of the formative Community at Teresianum called out the name of the Candidate and the scholastics of Teresianum conducted the Liturgy and the choir. Altogether 20 priests concelebrated and around 30 friends of Br. Sharma participated in the celebration even from long distances. Since the family members of Br. Sharma could not be present for the ceremony, the event was transmitted online. At the end of the Eucharist, on behalf of the K. G. Province and the Canada Delegation, Fr. Pius James D’Souza thanked the formative community of Teresianum, the Province of Naples, the Capannori community and the Scala community.

Soon after the service refreshments were offered during which Br. Sharma was felicitated with a cutting of the cake. Then Br. Sharma thanked one and all for their whole hearted support and cooperation in making this event memorable. The entire K.G Province together with the Canadian Delegation congratulates Br Sharma and accompanies him through our prayerful and fraternal support.
