Ordination of Fr. Antony Stephen

It was indeed a day to rejoice as Dn. Antony Stephen, first Carmelite Priest from the Mt. Carmel Church, Mariapura, Bangalore was ordained on the 15th of April. The first flower from the garden of Mt. Carmel Church to the Order of Carmel was fittingly offered as the whole village joined together in the ordination ceremony. Most Rev. Robert Miranda, Bishop of Gulbarga raised our deacon to the order of Melchizedek. Rev. Fr. Deepak Thomas conducted the liturgy meaningfully. After the Eucharist a short felicitation programme was organized. Rev. Fr. Richard Menezes compeered the programme and introduced the Newly Ordained to the gathering. Rev. Fr. Charles Serrao wished the Newly Ordained on behalf of all the province members. All the priests who participated in the ‘Ordination Ceremony’ were honored with a garland and shawl. Benefactors of Fr. Antony Stephen were gratefully remembered and were honored. Rev. Fr. Antony Stephen expressed his sentiments of gratitude to all those who played an active role in his ascent to the altar of God.
