Maundy Thursday Celebration at Infant Jesus
Shrine, Pushpashrama
On March 28, 2024, Maundy Thursday was commemorated across the globe
with reverence and gratitude for the sacred events that mark this
significant day in the Christian tradition. Maundy Thursday holds
profound significance as it commemorates the Institution of the Holy
Eucharist, the Institution of the Holy Priesthood, and the
commandment of love through Jesus washing the feet of his disciples.
In a solemn Eucharistic celebration held at Infant Jesus Shrine,
Pushpashrama, the faithful gathered to honor these pivotal moments
in the life of Jesus Christ. The ceremony was presided over by Fr.
Oswald Crasta OCD, the Rector of Pushpashrama, who led the
congregation in prayer and reflection.
Fr. Don Tony D’Souza delivered a reflective homily, shedding light
on the three crucial parts of the day's celebration. He invited the
faithful to contemplate the significance of the Institution of the
Holy Eucharist, the Institution of the Holy Priesthood, and the
commandment of love as exemplified by Jesus washing the feet of his
disciples. The faithful meaningfully participated in the entire
celebration with faith and devotion.
