Our Brother in Heaven
Br Maurice Anthony Fonseca breathed his last on the 1st of August, 2019 at 11.45 pm in Grace Cardiac Hospital, Margao after a faithful life of 82 years in which 58 years he lived as a professed religious.

The funeral mass was held on the 3rd of August at the Carmelite Monastery, Margao, at 3.00 pm. Archbishop of Goa and Daman, Most Rev Filipe Neri Ferrao presided over the Eucharistic celebration. 30 priests concelebrated. Fr Theo Fernandes broke the Word of God. Br Malvino Alfonso delivered the eulogy followed by the words of condolences by Fr Provincial, Charles Serrao. Fr Archibald Gonsalves, Superior of the Monastery proposed the vote of thanks. Fr Definitor General, Johannes Gorantla, blessed the body in the church. Then the brothers of the monastery along with the other friars of the province laid the body to rest in the Carmelite Cemetery after last rites presided over by Fr Provincial.
