Recollection Day - St Therese of the Child Jesus OCDS Community
A half-day recollection was held for the members of the St Therese of
the Child Jesus OCDS Community on Friday, August 15, 2025 in the Margao
Monastery Community Chapel. The recollection which began at 03:30 p.m.
and concluded at 06:00 p.m was attended by 30 members. Rev. Fr Don Tony
D'Souza, OCD, the delivered the Recollection talk on the theme ‘How to
live a Spiritual life!’
The recollection talk was based on St Paul’s letter to the Thessalonians
Ch 4:1-7. Referring the Church’s magisterial teachings Lumen Gentium,
Gaudium et Spes, Pope John Paul's Familiaris Consortio and Pope Francis'
Amoris Laetitia and Gaudete et exsultate Fr Tony explained how the
family is a domestic church where members are expected to support each
other in their journey towards heaven, living the priestly, kingly and
prophetic missions of Christ. The family becomes the mystery of the
Church and has the ministry of saving souls. He also added that families
should live the liturgical seasons in their homes and make efforts to
bear their pains and difficulties for the sanctification of the spouses
and unite our sufferings to the Cross of Christ. Daily gestures of love,
care ,guidance and encouragement, can do much to uplift the family! The
Recollection concluded with the celebration of the Holy eucharist and
the fellowship!
