Celebrating Emmanuel at Pushpashrama
The Pushpashrama community solemnly celebrated the Nativity of our
Lord Jesus Christ on the night of 24th December, together with the
lay faithful, in an atmosphere of faith, joy, and thanksgiving.
The celebration began at 10:00 p.m. with Christmas carol singing,
followed by a solemn thanksgiving Mass, which formed the heart of
the celebration. The holy Eucharist was presided over by Rev. Fr.
Joseph D’Souza, OCD, and Rev. Fr. Vijay D’Costa preached a
meaningful homily. In his reflection, he emphasized the importance
of making space for Jesus in our lives, particularly in today’s busy
and demanding world.
After the holy Mass, sweets were distributed, and the celebration
concluded with a Housie-Housie game, in which all participated with
great enthusiasm and joy.
A special highlight of the celebration was the Christmas crib,
thoughtfully prepared by the brothers, based on the theme
“Eucharist: Highway to Heaven,” inspired by the life and witness of
St. Carlo Acutis. The crib beautifully conveyed the centrality of
the Eucharist in Christian life.
The Christmas Vigil was a meaningful celebration that combined
prayer, reflection, and fraternity, enabling all present to joyfully
commemorate the birth of Christ, Emmanuel.
