Healing
Goa, January 18, 2025: The latest novel Needle of Forgiveness,
authored by Carmelite priest Fr. Cannio Cardozo OCD, was formally
released on Sunday, January 18, 2025, at the Carmelite Monastery,
Margao, Goa. The book release took place after the Holy Mass
celebrated at 11.00 a.m. and witnessed the presence of clergy,
religious, and faithful from Goa.
The book was officially released by Rev. Fr Silvestre D’Souza OCD,
Provincial Superior of the Karnataka–Goa Province of the Order of
Discalced Carmelites. The occasion marked the fourth book release by
Fr. Cannio Cardozo, who has already made a significant mark in the
literary world through his earlier works:
1) All I Have Is I,
2) All I Have Is You, and
3) All I Have Is Them.
The latest one, Needle of Forgiveness is a thoughtfully written
novel that reflects the rich culture, traditions, and way of life of
Goa. Through a deeply human narrative, the author explores themes of
forgiveness, reconciliation, and inner healing, weaving them into
the everyday experiences of people. The novel offers readers not
only a glimpse into Goan society but also a profound spiritual and
emotional journey, making it both culturally rooted and universally
relevant.
Also present at the event was Fr. Marlon, Superior of the Carmelite
Monastery, Margao, along with several Carmelite priests from various
parts of India and abroad. The gathering was further enriched by the
participation of a large number of faithful from Goa who attended
the Holy Mass and joined in celebrating the literary milestone.
The release of Needle of Forgiveness stands as a proud moment for
the Carmelite community and for Goan literature, highlighting the
enduring contribution of religious writers in fostering values,
culture, and dialogue through the written word. Kudos to Fr Cannio
Cardozo.
