Christmas Gathering of the KG Province Friars in Italy
Parrocchia di Santa Maria a Ripa , Empoli- December 30-31 2025
The friars of the KG Province currently serving and studying in Italy came together for the Christmas gathering at Parrocchia di Santa Maria a Ripa at Empoli on the 30th and 31st of December 2025. Members from the communities of Scala, Lucca, and Teresianum joined the host community.

The highlight of the gathering was the Solemn Eucharist, celebrating the Silver Jubilee of the Ordination of Fr Deepak Tauro, which was held at the Parish Church along with the parishioners. The Eucharist was presided over by the Jubilarian. The superior of the Capannori Community Fr Alwyn Aranha broke the Word of God.

Following the Eucharistic Celebration, the parishioners felicitated Fr Deepak. Then followed the fraternal celebration in the refectory, combining the Birth of Jesus and the Silver Jubilee. Fr Mark Furtado proposed a toast to Fr Deepak, who was his community member when Fr Deepak was the Superior at Scala. As an expression of joy and fraternity, a cake was ceremonially cut, and a home-cooked buffet dinner was served.

The second day began with a concelebrated Eucharist presided over by Fr Aaron Babush, combined with Morning prayer with the parish community. The rest of the day was dedicated to fraternal bonding, filled with informal conversations, joyful interactions, and the sharing of Carmelite community life. The gathering concluded with a sumptuous lunch. In closing, Fr Roshan Lobo, the host superior, extended his gratitude and bid farewell to all participating friars.
