THE SACRAMENT OF BAPTISM AT OUR LADY OF LOURDES SUBSTATION, MATEKA, SONGEA.
December 26th the Boxing Day and the feast of St. Stephen the first martyr was solemnized by conferring the sacrament of Baptism for 28 new born children here at Our Lady of Lourdes substation, Mateka. The Solemn Eucharistic Celebration was presided over by Rev. Fr. Marlon Rodrigues, the Regional Vicar of the Carmelites along with Fr. Roshan Pinto. The mass began at 9 AM with a solemn procession. It was a joyful event. Fr. Marlon in his homily requested the people to be faithful followers of Christ in spite of persecutions and dangers and we need to be ready to die for Jesus. He also congratulated the parents of the 28 children and asked them to form their children in genuine catholic faith.
