INSTALLATION OF THE TABERNACLE AT THE PAROCHIAL
HOUSE, MPANDAGINDO, SONGEA.
“It is written,” he said to them, “My house will
be called a house of prayer, but you are making it a
den of robbers.” (Matthew 21:13). There was a real
need for a community chapel for the friars to have
their community prayers especially to have the
mental prayer at the Parochial House of the St.
Martin the Tour. After having received the
permission from the local ordinary, the Tabernacle
was installed in the Community Chapel by Rev. Fr.
Marlon Rodrigues OCD, the Regional Vicar during the
evening vespers on the day of Christmas. After the
evening Vespers, Fr. Marlon read a small scripture
passage and spoke on the importance of Prayer in our
lives and he said ‘Carmel is nothing without
prayer.’ And then he blessed the tabernacle with the
holy water followed by incensing of the Tabernacle.
Later he placed the Holy Eucharist inside the
Tabernacle and gave the final blessings. Fr. Vivian
and Fr. Roshan and the UMI sisters were present for
the occasion.
