Golden Jubilee of Sr Marie Yvonne @ Bengaluru Carmel
July 2, 2023, Sunday, Sr Marie Yvonne of the Holy Spirit celebrated her golden jubilee of religious profession at Bengaluru Carmel. His Grace, Most Rev. Peter Machado, Archbishop of Bangalore, officiated over the thanksgiving mass at 11:00 a.m., along with Fr Silvestre D'Souza, Provincial Superior, Carmelite friars from Sadbhavana, Divya Sadan, Carmel Niketan, Fr Jerald D’Souza, and the parish priest of Shivajinagar Church. The Archbishop emphasized the concept of discipleship in following the Lord in his sermon and explained how Sr Yvonne was a disciple of Jesus in diligently following the Lord within the four walls of Carmel.

Following the mass, Fr Provincial congratulated the jubilarian and thanked everyone involved in organizing this unique occasion. Sr Yvonne's sister proposed the vote of thanks and presented the Archbishop with a small gift on behalf of the family. Later, the Archbishop congratulated the jubilarian and thanked all the sisters for their unceasing prayers for the diocese. Following the mass, everyone in attendance was served a meal. The KG Province thanks Sr Yvonne for her many years as prioress of the Bangalore Carmel and wishes her good health, happiness, and peace of mind in the years ahead.
