OCDS Eastern Canada Celebrates the Solemnity of
Our Lady of Mount Carmel
On July 5th, the Secular Carmelites (OCDS) of
Eastern Canada came together in deep faith and
joyful fellowship to celebrate the Solemnity of
Our Lady of Mount Carmel at St. Aloysius Church,
Kitchener.
The celebration was marked by a spirit of unity,
devotion, and renewal. The Main Celebrant of the
Holy Eucharist was Very Rev. Fr. Christophe
Denis Baudouin, Definitor General, who graced
the occasion with his presence.
The homily was delivered with spiritual depth
and warmth by Very Rev. Fr. Pius James Dsouza,
also Definitor General, encouraging all present
to grow in love, humility, and commitment to the
Carmelite vocation.
The sacred Promise Ceremony was presided over by
Fr. Rajesh Dsouza, who also serves as the
Coordinator of OCDS in Canada. The Mass was
concelebrated by Frs. Melwin Pinto, Rajesh
Madtha, and Sunil Dsouza, uniting hearts in a
beautiful celebration of faith and fraternity.
A vibrant gathering of nearly 90 OCDS members
from 11 communities made this a truly
grace-filled and memorable occasion.
After the Eucharistic celebration, the community
gathered for joyful fellowship, sharing moments
of joy, connection, and Carmelite spirit.
One of the most special moments was the address
by both Definitor Generals, during which the new
OCDS Canada website was officially
launched—marking a new milestone in our digital
mission and outreach.
