Our Lady of Carmel: A Mother, A Model, A
Blessing: Carmel Sannidhi Celebrates the Feast
of Our Lady of Mount Carmel
The serene grounds of Carmel Sannidhi,
Kadaganchi, Aland, Kalaburagi, came alive with
deep faith and devotion on 16th July 2025, as
the community gathered in large numbers to
celebrate the Feast of Our Lady of Mount Carmel.
The celebration of the feast was organized with
great spiritual fervour by Mount Carmel Church,
drawing priests, religious, students, and
devotees into a meaningful experience of grace
and unity.
The theme for this year’s celebration, “To Be
Blessings to Our Neighbours – Like Mother Mary,
Our Model”, inspired all to reflect on the
virtues of Our Lady and live lives of
compassion, humility, and service.
The Solemn Holy Eucharist was celebrated at 6:00
p.m. Rev. Fr. Vinod Lobo OCD, Provincial
Secretary, was the Main Celebrant, who shared an
inspiring message reflecting on the meaning of
“Carmel”, the spiritual richness of the
Scapular. He extended a call to imitate Mary in
her faith and openness to God’s will, and
welcomed the congregation to respond to the
invitation offered in the theme: “To be
Blessings to our Neighbours – like Mother Mary,
our Model.”
The celebration was blessed by the presence of
Rev. Fr. Henry Moras, Superior, Sadbhavana
Bengaluru, Diocesan as well as Carmelite priests
and religious sisters from across the Kalaburagi
Deanery. Adding to the spiritual beauty of the
evening was the enthusiastic participation of
students and staff (teaching and non-teaching)
of Mount Carmel School, Kadaganchi, and several
devotees from the Central University of
Karnataka.
The liturgical celebration concluded with the
distribution of the Scapulars, a powerful symbol
of Mary’s maternal protection and reminding the
faithful to live their Christian life with
commitment imitating the virtues of Mary,
walking under the mantle of her grace.
The entire evening manifested an aura of prayer,
reflection, and renewal. The Agape festive meal
was served to all the devotees. As the
congregation left the church grounds, they
carried with them the powerful message of the
day: to live as blessings to one another,
clothed in the grace of Our Lady of Mount
Carmel.
