Inauguration and Blessing of Carmel Park View
‘Carmel Park View’ our new edifice at Vijayanagar was blessed and inaugurated by Rev. Fr. Charles Serrao, Provincial Superior on the 3rd of March, 2016 at 11:00 am. Rev. Fr. Archibald Gonsalves unveiled the plaque bearing the name of the donors Late Mr. James D’souza and Mr. Anil D’Costa. After the blessing of the new building Fr. Archibald Gonsalves presented a brief history of how the dream of ‘Carmel Park View’ was realized. He recalled the initial dialogue with Mr. Anil D'Costa and the intentions he had in mind when gifting us the property. He also acknowledged the roles of Fr. William Miranda (then Provincial Councillor) and Fr. Canute D'Souza (Prov. Procurator) who worked a lot in the beginning, especially in getting the property registered in the name of the Carmelites. Fr. Provincial expressed his sentiments of gratitude to all those who helped to realize this project. Mr. Anil D’Costa the donor of the property where we could actualize ‘Carmel Park View’ was offered a shawl and a memento as a token of our love and gratitude by Fr. Provincial after which he honored Mr. S.J. Anthony the architect, Mr. Stevan Lobo and Mr. Baptist Dsouza, the contractors and all the sub-contractors with a memento. Besides the community from Sadbhavana, friars from Vijayanagar, Divya Sadan and Hegdenagar were present. The small function concluded with refreshments. Three cheers to Fr. Lawrence D'Cunha who supervised the construction from the beginning of the triennium and has brought the project to a successful completion.
