40 Hours of Adoration in Margao Monastery
40 hrs of continuous adoration at the
Carmelite monastery Margao is a time of
prayer and encounter with the Lord. This
year as it is dedicated to the divine mercy
the theme for the adoration was “Be merciful
just as your Father is merciful” (Lk6:36).
The Eucharistic adoration began on the 25th
of February, with the solemn Eucharistic
celebration and exposition of the Blessed
Sacrament by Rev. Fr. Socorro Mendes the
coordinator for the year of mercy for the
diocese of Goa and Daman. Fr. Socorro
invited the faithful to adore the Lord with
one sole desire that is, ‘to become merciful
as the heavenly Father.’ He also appreciated
the Carmelite fathers for their generous
contribution in the ministry of confessions
in the arch diocese.
‘It has been a celebration of faith’ was a
comment by some of the faithful who spent
many hours in prayer adoring the Lord during
these 40 hrs. For some it was also a time of
renewal and change.
