Diaconate of Br Jignesh
It was a day of great joy for the Karnataka-Goa Province of the Discalced Carmelite Order as Br Jignesh kumar Solanki was ordained deacon by His Grace Cardinal Joao Braz de Aviz along with his five other companions on the 13th of March, 2021, at Teresianum, Rome. In his homily, Cardinal Joao exhorted the young Deacons to have the mind of service, following in the footsteps of Christ. Talking about the prominent crisis of confusion between authority and service in the Church today, he placed before them the example of St Joseph, who with humility and great love, used his authority to serve the Holy Family. His Eminence expressed his great joy in ordaining the Carmelite Deacons, as they were from different parts of the world thus representing the Universal Church. He concluded his message, challenging them to live a life of service wherever they may be sent to preach the Gospel. We congratulate Dn. Jignesh and wish him every success in his diaconal ministry.
