Good Friday Celebration at Carmel Hill,
Vancouver
March 29, 2024 - The Good Friday celebration at Carmel Hill in
Vancouver was a remarkable event despite the challenging weather
conditions. Approximately 800 people participated, braving the
elements to reflect on the stations commemorating Jesus Christ's
journey to his crucifixion. The devotion provided attendees with a
deeply spiritual experience, fostering a sense of community and
shared reverence. A significant number of attendees also availed
themselves of the Sacrament of Reconciliation, seeking spiritual
guidance and forgiveness. The culmination of the day's events was
the celebration of the Passion of the Lord at the Tiampo Memorial
Hall. The hall was packed with pilgrims eager to participate in this
solemn observance. Frs. Vincent D’Souza, the Superior, and Mario
Fernandes, the Director of the Institute, played pivotal roles in
welcoming guests and pilgrims, ensuring they felt at home and
embraced by the community. Thus, the Good Friday celebration at
Carmel Hill in Vancouver was a profound and spiritually enriching
experience for all who witnessed the celebration.
