RECTOR CELEBRATES IL SUO COMPLEANNO
May 25, 2015 Monday was an auspicious day in the historical monastery of Santa Maria Della Scala, Rome as the rector Rev Fr Ivan Pinto celebrated his birthday. The whole day was considered as the Rector’s day as he received birthday greetings from the members of the community and from various corners of the world his near and dear ones. The thanksgiving Eucharistic celebration was held at 6-30pm presided over by the birthday baby and concelebrated by the members of the community. Fr Wilfred Pais during the introduction invited the entire assembly to pray for the intention of Fr Ivan and gave a meaningful reflection on the day’s gospel and gave a clarion call to follow the Lord with the spirit of detachment and mortification. At the close of the mass, the birthday boy expressed the words of gratitude to all the members and faithful who attended the mass. After which the whole community sang a birthday song and felicitated the birthday baby. The climax of the celebration was the birthday dinner which was a mixture of Indian and Italian dishes. Fr Roshan Lobo from Teresianum and Sr Jacintha D’ Souza, UFS were the guests of honour. Thus the rector’s day became an occasion to all to celebrate, jubilate and share brotherly love with one another as members of the community.
