Province Retreat at Sadbhavana
Two retreats were held in Sadbhavana from the 17th to 21st of November and 24th of to 28th of November back to back. Rev. Fr. Peter Chakiyat, the well known Scholar in Indian Philosophy and Teresian Spirituality from Malabar province was the preacher. The preacher with his vast knowledge on St. Teresa of Avila and his personal experience of Carmelite way of life prepared all the priests participated in the retreat for the V centenary of St. Teresa’s Birth in the best manner possible. All those who participated were extremely happy with the preacher and the retreat as all were enabled to imbibe the spirit of Carmel as desired and taught by St. Teresa of Avila. Fr. Peter Chakiyat was thanked by Fr. Michael and Fr. Ligoury in the first and second batch respectively. Fr. Joseph D’Souza from Tanzania and Fr. Joseph pinto from Pushpashrama offered the token of love in the form of a gift and the flower bouquet. In the second batch the anticipated B’day of Fr. Wilfred Rodrigues was celebrated. Fr. Alexander Branganza, batch mate of Fr. Wilfred and presently the superior of Avila Jyothi, Mapuca raised the toast and Fr. Deep and Fr. Clifford wished the B’day Baby with a B’day gift and the colourful flower bouquet.
