Plenary Council and Province Day
Plenary Council was held in Sadbhavana on
the 17th of November, 2015. Br. Amyas Quadros
and Br. Ashwath D’Souza invoked the blessings of
God on the gathering. The Plenary Council was
inaugurated by lighting the lamp. All the
Superiors and Formators along with those who
volunteered to be in the council participated in
the triennial council. Rev. Fr. Provincial
welcomed everyone for an active and fruitful
participation. Fr. Archibald Gonsalves briefed
the floor about the General Chapter that was
held in the month of May. Then the agenda was
taken up for the discussion. The council
concluded on the next evening.
Province Day was celebrated with all joy and
solemnity on the 17th of November, 2015. Very
Rev. Fr. Charles Serrao, as it was his feast day
presided over the solemn Eucharistic
celebration. Rev. Fr. Wilfred Rodrigues preached
an inspiring homily. Bros. Amyas Quadros, Wilson
Tauro, Ajay Lobo, Vishan Monis, Ashwath D’Souza
animated the celebration with a well prepared
liturgy and melodious singing. All the friars
who attended the plenary council participated in
the joyous celebration along with the priests
from the communities in Bangalore region. After
the Mass there was a small cultural programme
where Rev. Fr. Charles Serrao was felicitated on
his feast day, Fr. Gregory D’Souza was wished a
very happy B’day and Frs. Sylvestre D’Souza,
Alexander Branganza, Wilfred Rodrigues were
congratulated on their Silver Jubilee of
Religious profession. Fr. Dominic Vas raised the
toast. Fr. Melwyn D’Cunha wished the Jubilarians.
Fr. Jerome Moras wished Fr. Joe Tauro a very
happy B’day in anticipation. Fr. Ligoury Crasta
compeered the programme. Fr. George Santhumayor
spread the red carpet of roses. Fr. Pius James
entertained the gathering with a song through
his melodious voice. Rev. Fr. Provincial
expressed the sentiments of gratitude to one and
all. Fr. Felix Moras prayed the grace before the
meals. All partook in the sumptuous meal
prepared by Fr. Jerald D’Souza, the delegate
Superior of Sadbhavana.
