Monthly Fraternity Meeting | 11 October 2026
The Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Community, OCDS, Margao, gathered on
Sunday, 11 October 2026, for its monthly Fraternity Meeting,
celebrating the spiritual wisdom of two great Carmelite Doctors of
the Church, St. Thérèse of the Child Jesus and St. Teresa of Ávila.
The meeting began in the Chapel with the Divine Mercy Chaplet,
Evening Prayer and a period of silent meditation led by Fr. Jeevan
Tauro. A special prayer session honoured the two saints, and red
roses bearing inspirational messages were distributed to all as a
reminder of their teachings and call to holiness.
The community then gathered for formation, fellowship and birthday
celebrations. In the formation session, Fr. Jeevan Tauro reflected
on the teachings of St. John of the Cross, particularly “Letting Go
of the Senses,” highlighting the importance of detachment from
worldly attachments in the soul’s journey towards purification and
union with God.
October birthday celebrants were felicitated with prayers, songs and
a birthday cake, generously sharing tea and snacks with the
community in a spirit of joy and togetherness.
The meeting beautifully blended prayer, formation, fellowship and
vocation awareness, renewing the community’s commitment to its
Carmelite calling.
As St. Teresa teaches us to seek God within, St. Thérèse invites us
to trust Him with a childlike heart.
Two Teresas, one Carmelite heart—rooted in prayer, radiating love,
and trusting God in all things!
What are we taking home?
“A LITTLE WAY… WITH BIG LOVE!”
And what are we called to be?
“CARMELITES ON FIRE—BURNING WITH LOVE FOR CHRIST!”
