Mysore Konkani Kutam at Pushpashrama
September 11, 2016 Sunday, the Konkani Kutam of Mysore region celebrated the solemnity of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary at the Infant Jesus Shrine, Pushpashrama. The Children and the elders congregated around the statue of Infant Mary and offered flowers. The new corn was blessed at the grotto of our Lady which was followed by the concelebrated festive mass which was presided over by Fr Vinod Lobo. Rev Fr Dominic Vas, the Director of Dhyanavana in his homily highlighted the decadence of the family values in the modern world and invited all to follow the virtues of Mary in our Christian families. The Pushpashrama philosophy brothers along with the youth of Konkani Kutam gave an angelic outlook to the celebration through their melodious voices. Fr Vijay D’Costa, the Shrine pastor proposed the vote of thanks and Fr John Lobo released the new Konkani Album “Tuji Doyall Dixtt”. After which the president of the Konkani Kutam offered the words of gratitude to each and every one. After the mass the new corn which was mixed with the payasam was distributed to all the faithful. Thus the family feast and the birthday of our Lady enabled the Konkani Kutam of Mysore to come together and share the love and peace with each other.
