COME AND SEE …. Orientation Course @ Mapusa
We the Carmelites of Karnataka – Goa Province thank God for
the gift of vocations He has granted to us even during this
Covid-19 Pandemic crisis. September 6, 2020 was a historical
day for the entire Province, as we inaugurated the
Orientation programme 2020-21 at Avila Jyothi Carmelite
seminary at Mapusa, Goa. Very Rev. Fr. Pius James D’Souza,
the Provincial Superior of the Province was the main
celebrant along with Fr. Ivo Dias, Superior of Avila Jyothi
Seminary, Fr. Silvestre D’Souza, Superior of Carmelite
Monastery Margao, Fr. Vinod Lobo the Provincial Secretary,
Fr. Peter Pereira, Fr. Ivan Sequiera, Fr. Praveen D’Souza
and Fr. Macson Dabre. Fr. Provincial in his homily expressed
his gratitude towards God and appreciated the boldness of
the brothers and their family to send them to the seminary
at Mapusa. He also explained the boys the importance of
vocation and gave them the prerequisite to nurture the same
by explaining through the imagery of Pot filled with water
and the Lighted Candle. The Orientation Course was
inaugurated by lighting the Lamp.
Avila Jyothi Carmelite Seminary comprises Fr. Ivo Dias as a
Superior , Fr. Macson Dabre (Director ), Fr. Praveen D’Souza
(Director of Emmaus), Fr. Ivan Sequeira , Br. Morgan Ataide
along with 23 candidates from different parts of Karnataka,
Goa, Maharashtra. 17 From Mangalore, 02 from Karwar Diocese,
01 each from Shivamogga, Goa, Chikmagalur and Vasai. After
the inauguration Rev. Fr. Provincial felicitated our
benefactor and donor Mr. Frank Carvalo and thanked him for
his generosity towards Emmaus Wellness Center.
Let’s accompany these young boys through our prayers as they
march towards the goal of becoming Carmelite Priests.
